Thanksgiving

I said before that we were at Dauchau on Thanksgiving, and its true. What I didn’t say is that we celebrated Thanksgiving a week early, on the 15th. The Villa staff made it a really special occasion. The feast was phenomenal - They cooked a 28 pound turkey! We had the whole spread, yams, green bean casserole, turkey, ham, cranberries, cornbread casserole, stuffing - you name it. The dessert table was almost as big as the meal table, with pumpkin, chocolate, pecan and bourbon pies and homemade whipped cream. We had several guests at the villa, and the place was decorated to the nines. One of my favorite staff members, Sandro, broke out the riding lawnmower and gave the students hay rides 2 at a time. We made our own costumes (Indians and Pilgrims) and had a genuinely good time. Afterwards I played 42 with Klay, Josh and Logan. We left the food out until after 10 so everyone could come back and pick it over. It really felt like a big family dinner.
